ABOUT

“I strive for an easy-living type of style that combines the classic New England with the casual Californian. I believe that you should be able to live comfortabley in a stunning home.” – Jill Goldberg, Owner/Designer

Hudson was created by Jill Goldberg, an Interior Designer, who felt limited by the stores in Boston. Instead of putting up with it, she did something about it and opened Hudson. Hudson is a unique and one of a kind experience for Bostonians who were used to the bland choices they had become accustomed to.

“I want people to walk into my store and feel as if they were walking into a home- A home where they felt comfortable enough to put their feet up and, at the same time, elegant enough to want to show off!” We are hoping that everyone will come and experience what Jill has worked so hard to create.
Jill Goldberg was born and raised in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Like Many designers, she started her career in her mother’s living room rearranging the furniture. Always a fan of home design, it wasn’t her first love. Jill ran off to Los Angeles after high school to become an actress. For the next eight years Jill struggled with her “acting career”, but all the while soaking up the relaxed and comfortable California style that is present in her work today. Finally one day, she realized it’s time to go back to school and study a subject she had loved for so long, Interior Design. Jill attended The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles, where she thrived. Upon graduation she left Los Angeles for Boston, where she dove in head first.

In 2001 Jill started her own company, Picket Fence Interior Design, and began to work with homeowners helping them to realize their personal taste through the selections of fabrics, furniture, accent pieces and wall colors. This experience helped her realize that she wanted to work with materials and items that she felt passionate about. In September 2006 Jill opened up Hudson, Boston’s premiere home boutique. At Hudson, Jill has found an outlet for her creativity and passion. Jill likes to describe the store as Traditional, Country and Vintage meet Modern…and that is just what it is. You’ll see all these components throughout the store and throughout her in home design work that she still does through the Hudson store.
